An Indianapolis woman was arrested, and police searched a Franklin apartment complex after getting a report of a suspicious vehicle.
A Johnson County sheriff’s deputy was flagged down by two men shortly after 3 a.m. Tuesday and told there was a vehicle sitting in the City View Apartments with its lights off and engine running while a man with a book bag was walking between cars. The deputy stopped a vehicle that matched the description of the one the men had seen nearby on Jefferson Street, according to the police report.
Police arrested Kristina Dawn Sawyer, 30, 5320 Sandhurst Drive, on a charge of driving while suspended with a previous conviction and for warrants in Marion and Johnson counties. However, the man was not in the vehicle. Sawyer also had a backpack in the car but told police she had no idea where it came from.
Police are still looking for the man who was walking between cars and looking into where the items found in Sawyer’s car and the backpack came from, the report said.
Sawyer was taken to the Johnson County jail, where she was being held without bond.
