Get scholarship by assisting Red Cross

High school and college students who conduct a summer blood drive could earn a scholarship.

The American Red Cross is hosting the scholarship through the Leaders Save Lives program.

The Leaders Save Lives program encourages 16- to 24-year-olds to host blood drives to help maintain the blood supply throughout the summer months.

Students who participate as a blood drive coordinator are eligible to win a scholarship up to $2,500 for higher education.

Registration is open to host a participating blood drive through Aug. 31. Registration can be done at redcrossblood.org/leaderssavelives.

Roncalli students travel to national park, forest

Roncalli students got a peek at mountains and forests in a Summer Field Study class.

The class is one part academics and one part retreat during the summer.

Students went to Rocky Mountain National Park and San Juan National Forest.

Bargersville student gets $2,000 scholarship

Jonathan Crisler of Bargersville has received a $2,000 Brothers Scholarship, renewable for three years from the Heritage Group Scholarship Fund.

Crisler will attend Indiana State University in the fall.

The scholarships are awarded each year to outstanding students who intend to enroll at a two- or four-year college or university.
