A traffic stop this week helped a Center Grove area resident get a stolen lawn mower back.
On Monday, the Mooresville Police Department became suspicious during a traffic stop and suspected that a John Deere tractor might have been stolen.
Police looked up the serial number on the tractor and found that it was bought by a Center Grove-area resident. Police contacted the resident, who lives in the area just east of Morgantown and Fairview roads.
The resident told police the mower was taken from a barn on her property, but nothing else appeared to be missing, according to a police report.
The mower was returned to the resident.
