A spiritual youth leadership conference will take place Aug. 30 in Indianapolis.
The conference is a team effort among the Desmond Tutu Center, Center For Interfaith Cooperation, the Peace Learning Center, the Marion County Commission on Youth and Youth Power Indiana.
The conference, “I AM CHANGE,” will bring together young adults from diverse backgrounds to discuss issues of social justice, how these issues relate to their broad spectrum of faiths and how to use the connections between their faith and civic involvement to bring about change.
Speakers will include Rep. Andre Carson and motivational speaker Tony Styxx and will take place during the Indy Festival of Faiths. The program will be 3 to 4 p.m. inside the Indiana War Memorial building.
The workshop will focus on the basics of organizing and activism while getting people from diverse faiths and backgrounds to work together for good.
