Ruth A. Cobb

EDINBURGH

Ruth A. Cobb, 66, of Edinburgh, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015, at her residence.

She was born April 8, 1949, in Elwood. She was the daughter of Harvey Max and Margurite R. (Fisher) Shaw.

She married Donald E. Cobb on July 11, 1965. He preceded her in death on April 2, 2010.

Survivors include her mother of Anderson; two sons, Jeff M. (Jennifer) Cobb of Columbus and John G. (Tracy) Cobb of Bloomington; three daughters, Tina M. (Steve Pierson) Turner of Morgantown, Teresa C. (Dennis) Lank of Indianapolis and Debbie K. (Douglas) Burton of Franklin; two sisters, Sandy K. Campbell of Anderson and Terri L. Ritneour of Ohio; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a special friend, Richard Beatty of Edinburgh; and her dog, Sadie.

She was preceded in death by her father; her husband; and two brothers, Jim Shaw and Larry Max Shaw.

She retired from Franklin United Methodist Community, where she was a housekeeper. Previously, she had worked at Irvington United Methodist Church in Indianapolis as a housekeeper.

She enjoyed spending time with her friends, shopping, making jewelry and social media.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday by the Rev. David Owens at Wright Chapel at Franklin United Methodist Community, 1070 W. Jefferson St. Calling will be from 1 p.m. until time of service Friday at the Franklin United Methodist Community.
