Church plans movie at park

Southpointe Church will present a “Movies in the Park” film Aug. 1 at East Park in Whiteland.

Activities will be from 5 to 11 p.m.

The event is free.

“Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” will be shown. 

There will be free popcorn. Activities include inflatables, climbing wall, carnival ride, interactive games, face painting and beanbag. There also will be live music, door prizes and low-priced concessions. 

The film begins at dusk.

Retreat center schedules event on religion in daily life

Benedict Inn Retreat & Conference Center, 1402 Southern Ave., Beech Grove, will host a program that discusses the areas of life where religion and daily life intersect.

On Aug. 11, the center will present “Money, Sex, Politics & Religion: Connecting Faith & Real Life.”

Ken Ogorek will discuss ways that faith can show itself and be refreshed in daily life.

The program will be 7 to 9 p.m. The fee is $20 per participant.
