Franklin Head Start enrolling students

Franklin Head Start has openings for the 2015-16 academic school year.

Applications are being accepted for children ages 3 to 5 who are income-eligible.

Get scholarship through Red Cross

High school and college students who conduct a summer blood drive could earn a scholarship.

The American Red Cross is hosting the scholarship through the Leaders Save Lives program.

The Leaders Save Lives program encourages 16- to 24-year-olds to host blood drives to help maintain the blood supply throughout the summer months.

Students who participate as a blood drive coordinator are eligible to win a scholarship up to $2,500 for higher education.

Registration is open to host a participating blood drive through Aug. 31. Registration can be done at redcrossblood.org/leaderssavelives.

YMCA enrolling preschoolers

Baxter YMCA on the southside is enrolling preschool students.

Parents can register children ages 2 to 5 for the 2015-16 school year. The YMCA offers two half-hour classes in the morning and afternoons two, three, four or five days a week.

Aladdin comes to Roncalli

Students at a local theater camp will perform  “Disney’s Aladdin Jr,” this weekend.

Performances are at 4 and 7 p.m. Friday at Roncalli High School, 3300 Prague Road, Indianapolis.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for students.

Recycling earns money

Recycling drink pouches has earned Greenwood Christian Academy students money for their school.

Students collected 10,000 drink pouches for the TerraCycle and Capri Sun’s recycling program.

By hitting this level of the milestone program, the participants have earned over $1,500 for their school.
