Man arrested after crashing into yard

A man was arrested after crashing into the yard of a home in a Center Grove area neighborhood.

Christopher R. Ferguson, 25, 5751 Darlene Drive, Greenwood, was arrested on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Ferguson was arrested after his car crashed into a yard around 5 a.m. Sunday in the Horizon Estates neighborhood, near Stones Crossing and Mullinix roads.

He told police he lost control of the vehicle and it flipped on its side in the 5200 block of Brenda Boulevard, according to a report from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

Ferguson also told police he had been drinking and had five beers and another drink at a friend’s house around midnight. Police tested Ferguson’s blood-alcohol content, and it was 0.18 percent, the report said.

Ferguson was arrested and taken to the Johnson County jail, where he was held on $1,000 bond.
