Franciscan St. Francis Health is offering a summer program to encourage parents and their children to learn about their health through a variety of activities.
The program, Family Healthy Challenge 2015, will consist of weekly classes on Thursdays beginning July 21 through Aug. 11. The meetings will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the hospital’s Indianapolis campus, 8111 S. Emerson Ave.
Each session includes activities to increase families’ knowledge about nutrition, exercise and other healthy habits and is geared to those who have risk factors for obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular issues.
The class will be limited to the first 10 families (up to two adults with children ages 6 to 12).
The program also includes a free two-week membership to Baxter YMCA, free health screenings and a variety of prizes.
Registration is required and can be done online or by calling 528-3296.
