In time, she also worked with family at Heidenreich florists as a designer.

Later in life, Marion earned education degrees at both Indiana University and Marion College and went on to teach and inspire students for almost 15 years.

Her interests included family, friends, watercolor painting, reading, politics and traveling.

She devoted much of her time and energy to taking care of her family and making sure that everyone had what they needed.

Marion is survived by her sons, Greg (Cathie) Shake and Glen (Colleen) Shake; her daughter, Laura (William) Stevenson; daughter-in-law, Janet Shake; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Shake; a son, Gary Shake; and sisters, Carol Vermillion and Trudy Seay.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the Indiana Parkinson Foundation in honor of Marion Shake, in care of the funeral home.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at SS. Francis and Clare Catholic Church, 5900 Olive Branch Road, Greenwood, to be followed by a luncheon at the church. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
