Reuben C. ‘Pete’ Ogden

GREENWOOD

Reuben C. “Pete” Ogden, 91, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015, at his Greenwood residence.

The son of Guy and Lola Lyon Ogden, Pete was born Jan. 14, 1924, in New Liberty, Kentucky.

Pete was a member of Glenns Valley United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge and the Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite.

After 37 years, he retired in 1979 as a systems analyst from Allison Transmission.

On Sept. 15, 1953, Pete married Margaret Helen Purpura; she survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Richard (Cindy) Ogden of Sandy, Utah, and Guy (Jennifer) Ogden of Bargersville; a daughter, Cindy Ogden of Franklin; 13 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Jedamzik; brothers, Chester and Wilburn “Dick” Ogden; and sisters, Thelma Bishop and Nadine Little.

No visitation or services are planned. Private inurnment will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Little Red Door Cancer Agency, 1801 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN 46202.
