Almeda Turpin

TRAFALGAR

Almeda Turpin, 58, of Trafalgar, passed away Friday, June 19, 2015, at her residence.

She was born June 13, 1957, in Franklin. She was the daughter of Alvis and Fay (Burton) Cowan.

She married Don A. Turpin on Aug. 15, 1975; and he preceded her in death on June 27, 2011.

She is survived by a son, Matthew A. Turpin of Trafalgar; a daughter, Amanda J. (John) Canary of Franklin; grandchildren, Charles A. Canary, Amelia J. Canary and Alaina F. Turpin; a sister, Annette (Phil) Wesley of Mooresville; nieces, Amberley Moore of Martinsville and Gretchen Moore of Plainfield; and a great-nephew, Logan Smith of Martinsville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband.

She attended The Crossing Church in Nineveh and was a member of Double Y Saddle Club.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed attending horse-related events. She also enjoyed reading, crafts and baking.

She was a volunteer at The Lord’s Locker in Trafalgar.

Almeda was an organ donor so she could continue helping others.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday by Pastor Paul Taylor at The Crossing Church, 8728 S. Nineveh Road in Nineveh. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the time of service Sunday at the church.

Arrangements are being handled by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh.
