Southside Animal Shelter receives grant

A southside animal rescue shelter has received a grant that will help continue its work with homeless animals.

Southside Animal Shelter, 1614 W. Edgewood Ave., Indianapolis, received a $100,000 grant from the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust.

The shelter’s mission is to rescue dogs and cats and help them find healthy homes.

The grant to Southside Animal Shelter is one of 30 awarded to nonprofit organizations in Indiana by the trust during the first of two grant cycles this year.

Since the trust began awarding grants in 1998, it has awarded more than $120 million to 463 nonprofit organizations in Indiana. To learn more, visit ninapulliamtrust.org.
