What will the event entail?
It will consist of learning how to make a superhero cape, mask and wristbands out of an old T-shirt.
Who can come to the event?
It is open to teens Grades 6 through 12.
How much does the event cost?
The event is free. Teens should bring a large or extra large cotton T-shirt.
How did you get the idea for the event?
I wanted to find a cheap, easy DIY cosplay idea for teens, so I got some ideas on Pinterest and ran with it.
What is the main purpose of offering this event?
Our summer learning program is “Every Hero Has a Story,” so I’ve been trying to incorporate superhero programs throughout June and July. Teens love being creative, and I hope this will inspire them to make more costumes or projects out of everyday objects lying around their home.
