Thomas Herbert Moore, 75, passed away May 28, 2015, in New Whiteland.

Tom was born in Chicago, grew up in Cedar Lake, Illinois, and spent most of his adult life as a resident of New Whiteland.

Tom owned Randhurst Enterprises, a vending company, for more than 30 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, former member of the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Police Department and former member and past post commander of American Legion Post 276 in Beech Grove.

He also was a member of Whiteland United Methodist Church.

Tom earned a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University in suburban Chicago.

In his younger days, Tom enjoyed racing cars and was a longtime IndyCar and NASCAR fan.

Survivors include three children, Kimberly Moore of Centerville, Brett (Jennifer) Moore of Huntington Woods, Michigan, and Brian Moore of Oakland, California; two sisters, Carol Flashsenberger and Sandra Wagner; and seven grandchildren, Nicholas, Joseph and Brooke Madden, and Oliver, Hudson, Sullivan and Macallister Moore.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor (Kealy) Mitchuson; and his father, Melvin Moore.

A memorial gathering will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 U.S. 31 North.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Greenwood-Whiteland Honor Guard, American Legion Post 252, 4342 Redman Drive, Greenwood, IN. 46142-7348.
