A former Greenwood resident was sentenced to two years in prison and six years on probation after pleading guilty to child molestation.

Randy Krebs, 21, 230 Catfish Road, Woodvine, Kentucky, was sentenced Monday. According to court documents, Krebs had a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl starting in March 2014, when Krebs was 20. The girl stayed at Krebs’ apartment with a friend. The 13-year-old and Krebs had sex, according to the probable cause affidavit.

The next day, the mother of the 13-year-old girl and the father of her friend waited at a gas station to pick up the girls. Krebs, his friend and the two girls drove by but did not stop at the gas station. The two parents followed the car to Krebs’ apartment, forced Krebs out of the car, and Krebs ran into his apartment.

Someone called the Greenwood Police Department to report a fight happening at Krebs’ apartment, and that was when the parents reported the child molestation, the affidavit said.

Greenwood police searched Krebs’ apartment and found a condom wrapper, the girl’s clothing and her backpack, the affidavit said. He was charged with a felony count of child molestation and could have faced up to eight years in prison.
