Letter: Focus on home front, rebuilding infrastructure

To the editor:

Thank you for Ann McFeatters’ column in the May 29 Daily Journal (“Our reluctance in fixing infrastructure to be costly”). She is exactly right: We are letting our beloved country fall apart while we send our money (and young people’s lives) to save the rest of the world.

What would happen if we stayed at home and rebuilt our infrastructure, giving our people who want to work the jobs we have sent elsewhere? Let the rest of the world solve their own problems, and let us mind our own business and take care of our own problems.

Surely we can do better than we have been doing since the end of World War II, with one war after another and nobody any better off.
