Birdies, eagles to benefit dogs, cats

A golf tournament this month will benefit homeless animals by facilitating adoptions, supporting spay/neuter programs and by educating the public on pet ownership — all initiatives of the Humane Society of Johnson County.

The organization will host the annual Critter Classic golf tournament June 18.

The tournament will take place at Hillview Country Club, 1800 E. King St., Franklin. All money raised will benefit the local Humane Society.

The 18-hole event will start at 1 p.m.

Player registration is $100 per person or $400 per foursome. The fee includes lunch at 11:30 a.m., green fees, cart, a prize entry and one drink ticket per person.
