Robert Dean Gieseking

Robert Dean Gieseking, 75, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2015, in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Whiteland.

Robert was born Nov. 14, 1939, in Indianapolis to Henry and Ruth (Kelso) Gieseking.

He was in the trucking industry for 37 years.

He retired from the Teamsters Local 135 in 1997.

Robert enjoyed fishing and being with his family. He was a little league baseball coach for Whiteland Little League for several years.

He is survived by his wife, Janet (Mahoney) Gieseking of Whiteland; five children, Robert E. (Arlene) Gieseking of Greenwood, Deanna L. Gieseking of Shelbyville, Gary W. (Leslie) Gieseking of Fairland, Michael D. (Sandy) Gieseking and Randy A. (Laura) Gieseking, both of Whiteland; sister, Debbie Barnett of North Vernon; brother, Frank (Darlene) Gieseking of Indianapolis; sister-in-law, Yaeko Gieseking of Indianapolis; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Ruth and Henry Gieseking; daughter, Kristi Gieseking; and brother, David Gieseking.

A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Thursday at Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 N. U.S. 31, with visitation from 3 p.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
