Pair arrested following pursuit in Center Grove

Two men were arrested after a short chase with police in the Center Grove area.

Just before 7 a.m. Saturday, police were called about a suspicious vehicle on Honey Creek Road, near Whiteland Road. When a deputy tried to stop the car near Demaree Road, the driver sped up, according to a report from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver and passenger began throwing items out of the vehicle. The chase continued through the intersection at Smith Valley Road, where the vehicle nearly caused an accident, and then turned into a neighborhood. Both the driver and passenger got out and ran but were caught by deputies along Main Street, the report said.

Police arrested Izaiah A. Limp, 30, 469 Greensprings Drive, Whiteland, and Kyle R. Bledsoe, 23, 4952 W. County Road 100N, Bargersville, on charges of resisting law enforcement, possession of narcotics, possession of paraphernalia, obstruction of justice and warrants. Limp was also arrested on another charge of resisting law enforcement and criminal recklessness, the report said.

Limp told police the two had been breaking into recreational vehicles in Bargersville, and other buildings in Franklin, and that the items they were throwing from the car had been stolen, the report said. Police also found methamphetamine on Limp and smoking pipes in the car, the report said.

Both men were arrested and taken to the Johnson County jail, where they were held without bond.
