FLAT ROCK
Ronald D. Emerick, 76, of Flat Rock, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2015, at Kindred Hospital South in Greenwood.
He was born Feb. 20, 1939, in Shelby County. He was the son of Myron E. and Helen (Closser) Emerick.
He married Emily Jean (White) Emerick on Sept. 11, 1961; and she preceded him in death on May 1, 2009.
He is survived by two sons, Tim (Venessia) Emerick and Jim (Lori) Emerick of Flat Rock; a daughter, Susan (Stephen) Getzinger of Ringgold, Georgia; a sister, Phyllis (David) Chrisman of Edinburgh; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
He was a 1957 graduate of Flat Rock High School.
He was a member of Flat Rock Christian Church and Farmers Masonic Lodge No. 147 in Norristown.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and a lifelong Shelby County farmer.
The Rev. Brian Ebersold will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Main Cross St., Edinburgh. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
