The Greenwood VFW Post 5864 will host its eighth annual fundraising golf tournament June 13, 2015, at Smock Golf Course.
The net proceeds of the tournament will be used to fund the military assistance program and many local charitable programs.
Sponsorships for the tournament are needed in donation ranges from $50 to $2,500.
The VFW’s programs include the Patriot’s Pen for junior high school students, Voice of Democracy for high school students, Boy and Girl Scouts of the Year and college scholarships.
The post also awards plaques to the Outstanding Citizen of the Year, Policeman of the Year, Fireman of the Year and EMT of the Year in the City of Greenwood. The post also provides assistance to local food banks, Greenwood Little League and Bantam Football, Indiana homeless veterans and veterans and their families who need financial assistance.
