Thelma Marjorie ‘Marge’ Ackerman Tangeman

Thelma Marjorie “Marge” Ackerman Tangeman, 90, passed away May 21, 2015. She was a resident of the Franklin United Methodist Community.

She was born July 10, 1924, in Santa Claus, to Louis Herman Franz “LHF” Ackerman and Martha (Luedtke) Ackerman.

She married Robert Eugene Tangeman on March 11, 1972. They enjoyed more than 42 years of committed marriage.

She worked most of her adult career at Stokley-Van Camp in Indianapolis in the accounting department.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church on New York Street in Indianapolis since 1972, where she sang in the choir and sometimes as a soloist. She looked after other people who needed help and cared for friends who were ill.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Eugene Tangeman of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Laurence Ackerman, Lois Christina Hoeferkamp, Joseph Frederick and Ruth Lucille Thiemin.

The Rev. David Owens will conduct a celebration of life service at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Wright Chapel of the Franklin United Methodist Community, 1070 W. Jefferson St., in Franklin. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the chapel. Burial will be at South Park Cemetery in Greensburg. 

Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center in Franklin is handling arrangements.
