Ralph Lee “Duck” Harris

Ralph Lee “Duck” Harris, 70, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015, in Indianapolis. He was a resident of New Whiteland.

Ralph was born Feb. 12, 1945, in Pulaski County, Kentucky, to Allen and Zella (Padgett) Harris.

He married Brenda Scott on Nov. 14, 1964; they were married for 50 years.

He was self-employed in farm equipment sales for 39 years and was semiretired.

Ralph enjoyed fishing, dirt car races and going to casinos. He loved traveling, especially to Branson, Missouri.

He loved spending time with his friends, family and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Harris of New Whiteland; three children, Sheila Harris and Connie (Chris Cummings) Williams, both of Franklin, and Michael (Jennifer) Harris of Whiteland; sister, Nancy Motes of Kentucky; brother, Gerald (Karen) Harris of Franklin; five grandchildren, Brandon Williams, Lindsay Harris, McKenzie Houchin, Hannah Harris and Emma Harris; two great-grandchildren, Iziah and Colton Williams; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Zella Harris; two brothers, David Harris and infant Danie Harris; and two infant sisters, Geraldine and Sue Harris.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 U.S. 31 North. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
