Local dancers place in major competition

A team of Whiteland dancers recently earned a world ranking in a cheer and dance competition.

Tiffany’s Cheer & Dance Studio’s small senior hip-hop team fnished 13th in the world at the USASF Dance Worlds competition held at Walt Disney World in April.

The team earned a bid to attend the world competition on Feb. 28 at the COA Midwest Nationals Cheer & Dance Competition in Columbus, Ohio. Dance Worlds were held at Walt Disney World at Epcot on April 25. The team competed against 42 teams from around the world in the small senior hip-hop category. After preliminaries April 25, the team was in 10th place. On April 27, the team went to the finals competition and finished 13th out of 21 teams.

The studio at 570 E. Tracy Road, Whiteland, has been in business for 13 years. The studio trains cheer and dance teams and offers classes in cheerleading, dance and tumbling for kids ages 3 and older.
