SANTA CLARITA, CALIF.
Alice Sue (Hobbs) Powers, 74, of Santa Clarita, California, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 12, 2015.
She was born on Oct. 3, 1940, to John and Letha (Starnes) Hobbs in Scott County, Virginia. She was a former resident of Franklin.
Sue is preceded in death by her parents and brothers; husband, Omar Powers; and son, Timothy Powers.
She is survived by her daughter, Victoria Sunday; and grandchildren, Linus and Adrian Sunday; and sisters, Lottie Flanary and Faye Robinette of Gate City, Virginia; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service for Sue will be held at 11 a.m. June 6 at Gate City Funeral Home in Gate City, Virginia, with a graveside service afterward at the Powers Cemetery.
