Read-it-yourself summer in Greenwood

Greenwood Public Library’s 2015 summer reading program will get readers into the spirit of homemade projects and creations.

The program lets readers of all ages earn points and prizes for the books they read. It rewards hours read and provides programs on a common theme. Participants receive prizes for reading 10 hours or more and have a chance to win raffles.

The 2015 theme “DIY” will celebrate all things do-it-yourself with a full calendar of family-friendly programs.

Visitors can watch a puppet show, a Rube Goldberg challenge, magic show, a local craft fair and more.

Starlight Movie Night on July 17 will feature a full evening of “Frozen” fun as the library presents a DIY musical with a sing-along program.

Summer Reading runs from Monday to Aug 1. Participants can register at greenwoodlibrary.us or in person at the library. Participation in all Summer Reading activities and events is free and open to all.
