Man falls asleep, drives into pond

A man was injured after he fell asleep at the wheel and drove into a pond in Franklin.

Tristan A. Becker, 19, of Camby, was southbound on State Road 144 between Franklin and Bargersville about 6:30 a.m. Monday when he fell asleep while driving, according to a report from the Johnson County Sheriff’s office.

Tire tracks showed that he drifted off the road once, over-corrected and then left the roadway and drove into a pond, according to the report.

The car was immersed in water to just above the bottom of the doors.
