A family-owned circus in operation since 1938 is setting up its big top this week.
The Kelly Miller Circus is a traditional tented circus show featuring an elephant, tigers, zebras, camels and cast of circus performers including aerialists, jugglers and, of course, clowns.
A tent-raising and tiger meet-and-greet will take place at 9 a.m. Friday. The shows will be at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Johnson County fairgrounds in Franklin.
The public is invited. Ticket prices are $12 for adults and kids ages 12 and up; $6 for kids ages 2 to 11 and free for kids under 2.
The event is a fundraiser for the Johnson County 4-H & Agriculture Fair Association.
