Jacqueline Stinson

MESA, ARIZ.

Jacqueline Stinson, 87, born Feb. 24, 1928, in Sterling, to Czar Jacob and Rose Mae (Pratt) Hershberger, passed away peacefully at home in Mesa, Arizona, with her family by her side on March 23, 2015.

She was one of 10 children and grew up most of her life in the Indiana Masonic Home after losing both her parents at an early age. At the age of 8, Jackie met Harold Stinson, also living at the Masonic Home. In their sophomore year together, Jackie and Harold starting dating. They eventually were married and spent 68 wonderful years together.

In their later years, they took a three-month cross-country trip by fifth-wheel, visiting almost every state. Jackie had a poetic soul and loved to write poetry, writing nearly 3,000 poems.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; six sisters; and a son, Harold Jeffrey “Jeff” Stinson.

Jackie is survived by her loving husband, Harold; a daughter, Jennifer Ryan; three grandchildren, Kayla and Jacob Ketelsen and Sean Stinson; and one great-grandchild, Cylas Ryan.

She will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will was held April 11 at Gilbert Presbyterian Church in Gilbert, Arizona.

Memorials may be made in Jackie’s name to the Gilbert Presbyterian Church, 235 E. Guadalupe Road, Gilbert, AZ 85234.
