FRANKLIN
Wain D. Meece, 72, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015, in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Franklin.
He was born on Feb. 17, 1943, in Somerset, Kentucky, to Franklin Meece and Roberta B. (Meece) Meece.
He married Lisa Marie (Strube) Meece on Jan. 4, 1997. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Harold “Boogie” Meece; two daughters, Jessica Swisher and Courtney Hayes; five grandchildren, Alaina Carr, Alivia Swisher, Aden Swisher, Evan Meece and Alex Meece; and a brother, Warren Meece.
He was preceded in passing by his parents; a son, Mark Meece; two brothers, Ronald “Shorty” and Sherman Meece; and a sister, Pauline Skaggs.
He attended school in Kentucky and in Indiana.
Wain was employed by Davidson Lumber Co. in Franklin as a truck driver.
He was a president of Johnson County REACT and enjoyed watching NASCAR.
A visitation for family and friends to celebrate the life of Wain will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Whiteland Missionary Baptist Church on Main Street in Whiteland.
