Sunoco station opens on highway in Whiteland

A Sunoco station opened in early April at 340 U.S. 31 North in Whiteland.

Town Council President Robert Zehr, Town Manager Norm Gabehart and other officials were on hand to welcome the store to the town.

Sunoco Whiteland owners are Vishal Shah and Nithin Kuntla.

The Sunoco station is on the site of the former Swifty gas station. The old building was demolished in 2014.

Mortgage company opens Greenwood office

Residential mortgage lender Ruoff Home Mortgage recently announced the opening of a Greenwood office at 972 Emerson Parkway.

David Foley, vice president, will serve as the branch manager and will oversee operations for the office, including the hiring of additional loan officers and support staff in the next few months.

He was a senior manager with Stonegate Mortgage for four years and has been in the mortgage banking business since 1999. Before that, he worked in retail banking for six years. He is a graduate of Wabash College and is a member of the Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors.

Mike Wise joins the staff as sales manager, a position he previously held with Stonegate Mortgage. Before that, he worked for U.S. Bank for seven years as a sales manager. Wise started in the mortgage industry in 1983, moved to a role of vice president of retail bank branch administration in 1988, and then began working in the mortgage industry in 1998.

He is a graduate from Indiana State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree and an MBA. He is a charter member of the Golden Sunrise Sertoma Club and currently serves as club president. He is also active as a member at Resurrection Lutheran Church and of MIBOR.
