Jerry J. Damron, 70, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2015, in Bloomington. He was a resident of Gosport.
He was born Feb. 14, 1945, in Cincinnati.
Jerry owned and operated Damron Body Shop in Franklin for 30 years. He was a very hard worker all his life. He enjoyed drag racing and watching western movies.
He is survived by his two sons, Larry Damron of Spencer and Jerry (Jana) Damron of Cincinnati; three brothers, Ronnie (Katherine) Damron of Whiteland, Larry Damron of Greenwood and Donnie Damron; 10 grandchildren, Jerry J. Damron III, Justin P., Jake M., Nicole E., Kristen J., Lindsey C., Keith D., Bradley T. and Shelby V. Damron and Brenda J. Neely; and six great-grandchildren, Landon Barlag, Benjamin M. and Noah J. Alexander, and Abigail J., Novalee G. and Joseph R. Damron.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Maynard; his mother, Leah Virginia (Lantz) Damron; and three brothers, Mickey, Gary and Junior Damron.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Jessen Funeral Home, Trafalgar Chapel, W. 800 Pearl St. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Jerry Damron Memorial Fund, in care of the family, at the Jessen Funeral Home.
