Robert Edward “Bob” Claymiller, 89, of Franklin passed away Monday, April 13, 2015. He was a native of Fort Wayne.

He was born Nov. 21, 1925, to Charles and Nellie (Kayhoe) Claymiller in Fort Wayne.

Robert served his country in the Navy in the South Pacific and was very proud to be an American. He was a retired diesel mechanic for Lyman and Richie in Omaha, Nebraska. He was an avid Harley-Davidson motorcycle enthusiast and a life member of H.O.G.

He is survived by two daughters, Kathryn Marie Todd Herder of Indianapolis and Karen Lee (Denny) Hess of Fort Wayne; two sons, Robert Edward (Ann) Claymiller of Falls City, Nebraska, and Howard Eugene (Sue) Davis of Omaha, Nebraska; two brothers, Melvin (Carol) Claymiller and Benard Claymiller, both of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Brenda (Chuck) Oliver, Diane (Mike) Shimp, Randy (Angie) Todd, Angela Todd and Robert Yarnes; 19 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sharon Kay Claymiller; brothers, Russell Claymiller, Paul Claymiller, Charles Claymiller and Eugene Claymiller; and a sister, Helen Claymiller.

Services will be at noon Thursday at Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 U.S. 31 North. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Immediately following the service, family and friends are invited to follow Robert to his final resting place at Prairie Grove Cemetery, 6312 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, to join his Fort Wayne family and friends. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. with military honors by American Legion Post 499 of Fort Wayne.
