Lorraine ‘Lori’ Gleixner

Lorraine “Lori” Gleixner, 86, of Greenwood, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015.

She was born June 10, 1928, in South Bend. She was the daughter of the late Felix and Mildred Ferro. She was a member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church. She was a 1949 graduate of St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Chicago. She worked as an RN for many years at the South Bend Clinic. While in South Bend, she was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Knollwood Country Club and South Bend Racquet Club.

She wintered for many years in Spring Hill, Florida, at Timber Pines. Lori enjoyed watching her grandchildren compete in various golf tournaments and vacationing in Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia.

Lorraine is survived by a son, Mark (Tracy) Gleixner, DDS; daughter, Lisa (Sam) Traina; six grandchildren, Robert, Louie, Anna and Abbey Gleixner and Tony and Julie Traina; sister, Julianne James; aunt, Pauline Buffo; and her beloved cat, Charlie.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Robert Gleixner; and a son, Tom.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Saturday at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, 335 S. Meridian St., Greenwood. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis.
