A ceremony for National Child Abuse Prevention Month will be later this month.
An 8 a.m. April 25 at the Cultural Arts and Recreation Center in Franklin, child advocates will discuss prevention techniques.
At 9 a.m., a short ceremony will highlight the importance of child abuse prevention efforts in Johnson County. Judge Mark Loyd and Judge Andrew Roesener will make remarks.
Statewide, the Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS) is working with local Prevent Child Abuse Indiana councils, court-appointed special advocates (CASAs) and other child advocacy groups and local officials to unite families, neighbors, professionals and policymakers in the concerted effort to identify and address the issues that lead to abuse or neglect.
