Franklin Parks plans 5k family walk, activities

A 5k family walk and fun day this month will bring attention to the issue of child abuse and prevention efforts.

The Pinwheel Promise event is scheduled for April 25 at Franklin Parks and Recreation Center, 396 Branigin Blvd., Franklin.

Registration begins at 8 a.m., with the walk starting after 9 a.m. Children’s activities and vendors will be available until noon.

Registration will be at the large shelterhouse, located down the hill from the pool. The walk will begin and finish at pool parking lot.

To qualify for early registration, forms should be mailed to or dropped at 520 Tracy Road, Suite 160, Whiteland. Checks may be made payable to The Children’s Bureau.

Advance registration is $15 per adult, $10 per child or $40 per family, and includes T-shirts.

Race day registration remains the same, but T-shirt supplies may not be available. Free refreshments and snacks will be available to participants.
