EDINBURGH
Harry A. Mathis, 75, of Edinburgh, passed away March 24, 2015, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation of Greenwood.
He was born July 31, 1939, in Franklin. He was the son of Chester Mathis and Martha Louise (Hilton) Mathis Yeager. He married Elsie (Ferguson) Mathis on March 9, 1992; and she preceded him in death on March 1, 2014.
He is survived by a son, Bobby Mathis of Edinburgh; a brother, James (Barb) Mathis of Brooksville, Florida; a sister, Judith (George) Hill of Edinburgh; and three grandchildren.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He enjoyed fishing and working in the yard.
A memorial service will be conducted by the Rev. Guy Hardin at 7 p.m. Friday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Main Cross St., Edinburgh. Calling will be from 5 p.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
