Tri Kappa

The Center Grove area Zeta Lambda Chapter of Tri Kappa service sorority will award $1,000 scholarships to two Center Grove High School seniors.

For more information and applications, students should visit Center Grove’s scholarship website or contact their high school counselors.

Completed applications need to be submitted to the high school guidance office by April 13.

Lions Club

Seniors at Franklin Community High School who are active in their community can apply for a scholarship.

The Franklin Lions Club is taking applications for its Community Service Award until April 16.

The $2,000 reward may be used for tuition and or books. Applications are available at the school’s guidance offices.

Requirements for the scholarship include being active in the community and having a 3.0 GPA.

Education

Students studying education can apply for a scholarship.

The Scholarship Committee of the Indiana Retired Teachers Foundation is offering scholarships to upcoming juniors or seniors enrolled in an education program at any of Indiana’s universities and colleges.

Ten $2,000 scholarships will be awarded around the state to a student who has a relative that is a member of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association.

To find out which district you live in, go to retiredteachers.org and go to the IRT Foundation tab. The association’s district map and the online application are available under that tab.

The deadline is May 29.

Law enforcement

Students pursuing a career in criminal justice are eligible for a scholarship from the Indiana Sheriffs’ Association.

The association will award 40 $500 college scholarships to qualified high school seniors or college students.

To qualify, an applicant must be an Indiana resident, a current member of the association or a dependent child or grandchild of a current member of the association, attend an Indiana college or university, major in a law enforcement field and enroll as a full-time student.

Applications are available from high school counselors or the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office or by writing to the Indiana Sheriff’s Association at 147 E. Maryland St., Indianapolis, IN 46204. The application also can be downloaded from indianasheriffs.org.

The deadline is Wednesday.

Music

Johnson County students who want to pursue a degree in music are eligible for a scholarship.

Matinee Musicale is offering a $600 scholarship to a graduating senior in the county. Students must have a B average and be accepted to major in music at an accredited college or university.

Applications are due Saturday. Candidates will participate in a recital April 12.

Sertoma Club

The Sertoma Club of Greenwood is offering scholarships.

Five scholarships will go to students at the following high schools: Southport, Perry Meridian, Whiteland, Greenwood and Center Grove.

Applications can be picked up at the schools’ guidance office or at sertomaclubofgreenwood.com.

The deadline is April 13.

Rotary Club

The Rotary Club of Greenwood is offering a four-year $1,500 scholarship to a high school student from Greenwood, Whiteland or Center Grove.

A two-year $500 scholarship will be offered to a Central Nine Career Center student.

Applications can be picked up at the student’s school.

The deadline is April 17.
