North Main Street to be closed for repairs

The northern end of North Main Street in Franklin will be closed to all traffic starting Monday for construction.

Workers will shut down the road to traffic from the post office to U.S. 31. Crews will tear up the road and replace pavement. Work is expected to continue through June.

People who need to get to businesses and homes in the area will have access from alternate routes. CrossRoad Engineers has identified how to get to different locations in the project area during construction:

Auton Chiropractic, from the north on Schoolhouse Road

Campbell Insurance/Residents on Crescent Street, from the east on Crescent Street

14th Street residents, from the east on 14th Street

•Rally’s, from U.S. 31

Franklin Township trustee, BRI Staffing, Doc+Com, from alley behind vacant Marsh Store and AutoZone lot

•AutoZone, Taco Bell, from U.S. 31

•Franklin Shoppes, including Firehouse Subs, Domino’s, AT&T, from U.S. 31 or Main Street north from Schoolhouse Road.
