Hazel Maye (Aaron) French

FRANKLIN

Hazel Maye (Aaron) French, 83, a resident of Franklin, and previous resident of Russell Springs, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus.

She was born July 10, 1931, in Russell Springs, Kentucky to Vernon Aaron and Daisy (Irvin) Aaron. She married Joseph R. French on Nov. 16, 1956.

She was a member of the Church of God in Russell Springs and later attended Franklin Church of the Nazarene.

She moved to Franklin in 1954 and worked for Vernat Mills as a seamstress. She later went to work in the sewing room at GM Truck and Bus in Indianapolis and retired after 30 years of service.

She was an avid reader, loved watching Pacers NBA basketball, working jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Kimberly A. Forsyth (David) of Franklin; son, Troy V. French of Whiteland; seven grandchildren, Melody A. Griffith (Blake), Ashley J. DeJulio (Brent), Bethany E. Sasson (Omar), Joe French, Evan Stewart (Alison), Derek Crocker (Kelly Miles) and Nick Crocker; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ralph Aaron and Robert Aaron; and a son, Tony French.

The Rev. Todd Barnhizer will conduct a service at 8 p.m. today at Jessen Funeral Home, Franklin Chapel, 197 E. Jefferson St., Franklin. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Private family burial will be held Saturday.
