Juanita L. (Pryor) Bay

Juanita L. (Pryor) Bay, age 89, passed away Thursday afternoon, March 19, 2015, at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Fishers and a former resident of Morgantown.

Juanita was born in Martinsville on Sept. 10, 1925, to her parents, the late Groover and Pearl (Collins) Pryor.

She married Paul V. Bay on Jan. 26, 1946, in Martinsville. He preceded her in death on Nov. 5, 2001, after 55 devoted years of marriage.

Juanita is survived by her children, Paula Bay of Morgantown and Patricia Giles of Fishers. She will be remembered by her grandchildren, Sherry Ready of Columbia, Missouri, Kory (Jenny) Clawson of Bloomington and Brandon (Monica) Giles of Carmel; and great-grandchildren, Brittany Farris of Morgantown, Oliwia Giles of Carmel, and Isobel Clawson of Bloomington.

Juanita was preceded in death by a daughter, Belinda Ready; and siblings, Ruby Parrish, Nellie Tillbury, Edna Chitwood, Leon Knight, Margurite Quakenbush and Maxine Montgomery.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Mount Zion Separate Baptist Church in Morgantown.

Juanita enjoyed spending time with her husband raising horses and traveling. Juanita was known for her excellent cooking and beautiful wedding cakes. She enjoyed singing in the church choir and sewing.

The Rev. Kevin Ooley will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Friday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St., Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Nebo Memorial Park Cemetery in Martinsville.
