Kiwanis, Methodist groups set for sale

The Kiwanis Club of Greenwood and the United Methodist Women are hosting the annual Upscale Rummage Sale to raise money for local youth projects.

The event will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today and 7 a.m. to noon Friday at Greenwood United Methodist Church, 545 N. Madison Ave.

All of the proceeds from the rummage sale will go toward programs of the Kiwanis Club and United Methodist Women. Projects include providing specially designed bicycles for handicapped children, distributing bike helmets to elementary school children and providing scholarships to area students.

The organizations also support local missions, such as Samaritan Services and Goodwill Industries, and have helped underwrite the purchase of specialized ambulances for Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health.
