James Michael ‘Mike’ Morgan

WHITELAND

James Michael “Mike” Morgan, 65, of Whiteland, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015, at his home.

He was born Oct. 22, 1949, to George and Shirley (Johnson) Morgan in Louisville, Kentucky.

Mike retired from American Art Terrazzo and Tile after some 40 years and was a union member of Bricklayers Local 4.

He was a coach and mentor for Greater Clark-Pleasant Middle School football, bantam football, Little League baseball and youth basketball for many years.

Mike loved spending time with his grandchildren, riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and keeping Coors Light in business.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Fuquay Morgan; two daughters, Michele Marie Morgan and Renee Morgan, both of Louisville, Kentucky; two sons, Joshua Michael (Jessi) Morgan of Baltimore and Kyle Matthew (Jordan) Morgan of Whiteland; a brother, George (Connie) Morgan of Owensboro, Kentucky; two sisters, Theresa (Mark) Norman of LaGrange, Kentucky, and Debbie Germain of Florida; and three grandchildren, Dani Michele Beard, Mila Quinn Morgan and Henry Jaymes Morgan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Shirley Morgan; and his stepfather, Avery Wilson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 U.S. 31 North. Visitation will be from noon until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
