Betty Jeanne Class Hougland, 94, of Brownsburg, passed away Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.
Betty was known for her generous and giving spirit to all who knew her. She loved surrounding herself with her family and pets, whom she adored.
Betty and her late husband, Iris “Hougy” Hougland, owned Hougy’s General Store in Clermont.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Carol Hougland Scherer and Nancy Hougland; sons, Steven Hougland and Eric Hougland (Rhonda); eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret “Peggy” Class Rulison (Dr. Clyde); and a brother, Joseph Fielden Class.
She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Lynn Hougland; and her parents, Wesley and Millicent Class.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hendricks County Humane Society in care of the funeral home or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
