Leila L. (Bafford) Kelley

GREENWOOD

Heaven gained the most beautiful angel, our sweet mother Leila L. (Bafford) Kelley, 90. She passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015, at her residence in Greenwood.

Her husband, Dr. William (Bill) Kerr Kelley, and a son, Jay Paul Kelley, preceded her in death. They are celebrating with her at heaven’s gate.

Lee was born Nov. 5, 1924, in Ramsey, Illinois, to Albert Ross Bafford and Edith (Macrafic) Bafford.

She is one of nine siblings, with surviving brother Donald Wayne Bafford of Sun City, Arizona.

Lee was a lady who was loved by all and devoted to her family. She lived a life surrounded by love. Much happiness came from her grandchildren, music, IU, Colts and gardening.

Mom, Lee, Gram was a much-beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, Christian and friend. Her dedication to singing in the church choir and playing handbells was her passion. She loved the music and her Christian fellowship with so many beautiful friends.

Lee will always be remembered for her strong, kind and generous soul. We can rejoice in knowing that she is peacefully resting in our Father’s arms.

She also is survived by four children, William Scott Kelley of Indianapolis, Patti K. Turner (Butch) of San Diego, and Gloria K. Hummel (Jeff) and Andrea K. Estell, both of Greenwood; and eight grandchildren, Casey William Turner, Jessie Kai Kelley, Joshua Quinn Kelley, Rachel Lea Turner, Ross Logan Hummel, Hannah Leigh Hummel, Allison Shelby Estell and Macy Lee Corwin.

We will miss you, Mom, Gram and forever love YOU!

Our family would like to give heartfelt thanks to the staff at Americare Hospice. We also appreciate the loving care from Scott Swartz and family.
