Oral “Dwaine” Grider

Oral “Dwaine” Grider, 79, of Greenwood, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015, surrounded by his family.

He was born on Aug. 29, 1935, in Russell Springs, Kentucky, to the late Russell Combest and Clemma Nola Grider. Dwaine worked for Arvin Industries for many years before retiring, then continued to work as a trucker for more than 20 years.

Dwaine married his loving wife on June 1, 1957, who he remained with until his passing.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Rose (Roy) Grider; children, Marcyia Simpson (Lindsey) and Michael Grider; grandchildren, Lindsey Simpson III (Andrea) and Joshua Simpson (Elizabeth); great-grandchild, Jack; mother-in-law, Marie Roy; and brothers-in-law, Verbal Roy (Carol), Henry Roy (Pam), and Michael Roy (Brenda); and many other friends and family.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Pleasant Christian Fellowship, 2425 S. Emerson Ave., Greenwood, officiated by Michael and Henry Roy. A visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time.
