Joan Hager

Joan Hager, daughter of Roscoe and Hazel (Warren) Uhls, passed away Feb. 21, 2015, after a longtime illness.

She is survived by husband, Glenn Hager; daughters, Pam Rice of Sarasota, Florida, Kristi Hager (Dottie Ware) of New Whiteland, Sharon Bryant (Rick) of Greenwood; son, Jim Hager (Brenda) of Raytown, Missouri; granddaughters, Alison Rice, Kerry Hager, Lauren Hager and Jenna Bryant; grandsons, Sean Rice (Carol) and Jacob Bryant; great-granddaughter, Zaryll; and sisters, Peggy Stinson (Clovis) and Patty Fisher (Fred).

Joan was born in Franklin, Kentucky.

She and Glenn met at their alma mater, Southport High School, where she graduated in 1952. They celebrated their 62nd anniversary on Valentine’s Day and had renewed their vows in a private ceremony a few days before.

Joan retired from Eli Lily and Co. after 28 years. Afterward, she spent many hours playing bridge with friends at the Greenwood senior center. She also enjoyed traveling with family and friends and was a longtime member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church.

Visitation with family will be from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of the Greenwood, 335 Meridian St., Greenwood. A memorial service will immediately follow.
