Daily Journal staff reports

Police arrested a Greenwood man and woman following an undercover drug investigation.

Phillip L. Moran, 39, and Melissa R. Moran, 38, both of 2140 S. Meridian St., were arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, maintaining a common nuisance and two counts of dealing a narcotic drug.

Police said they began investigating the couple after learning they were selling drugs from their Greenwood home.

Last month, police said Melissa and Phillip Moran sold heroin on two separate occasions during an undercover investigation, according to a report from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

Just after 9 a.m. Friday, police went to their home on Meridian Street with a search warrant. Inside, they found cash, multiple cellphones, scales, drug paraphernalia and what they believed to be heroin and methamphetamine, the report said.

Both were arrested and taken to the Johnson County jail, where they are each being held on $13,300 bond.
