Donations provide comfort for children

People can give money to help comfort children and teens who have to stay in the hospital.

The Johnson Memorial Hospital Foundation will collect monetary donations throughout February for the Pooh Bears for Molly campaign.

Pooh Bears for Molly provides a Pooh bear to all children and adolescents who require a hospital stay at Johnson Memorial Hospital and to each newborn in celebration of his or her birth.

Pooh Bears for Molly began as a memorial to Molly Kathleen Gibson, a Franklin Community High School student who was comforted by her Pooh Bear when she stayed at the hospital. Gibson died from head injuries suffered in a car accident in 1998.

Monetary donations can be made online at johnsonmemorialfoundation.org or mailed to the Johnson Memorial Hospital Foundation, 1125 W. Jefferson St., Suite V, Franklin, IN 46131.
